DESCRIPTION
Day 1: Cai Be Floating Market - VamCaiGa
After a 2 hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City to Tien Giang, we will get to the Cai Be Floating Market by boat. Here locals sell every kind of goods entirely on the water.
The boat ride will continue to the Vam Cai River. Here you will see how people work and live and you may even catch a glimpse of the local fishermen casting their nets or placing bamboo shrimp traps in the river.
After a delicious lunch at a local house, you will have the opportunity to wear “baba” and “non la” - typical clothing for the Southerners in Vietnam. In traditional outfits, you will help to bail out water and learn to catch fish. After, you will be able to help your host with the cooking and enjoy your dinner.
At this point of the tour, you will be given the option to listen to a show of Southern folk songs while having dinner. (Additional charge applies VND 500.000/show)
In the evening, there will be time to relax taking a stroll along the river and placing candles on the water.
You will spend the night at the local house.
Day 2: Local market - Bonsai and Orchard Garden
After breakfast, you will take a bike ride to the local market called “Cho ChomHom”. This sort of a flea market is a crucial part of the daily life of the locals.
After the market, we will visit the Cai Mon Orchard Garden, also known as the “kingdom of fruits”. If there will be time and on weekdays only, we will have the chance to visit a local primary school to meet some of the students during their break time.
When we return to the homestay we will be able to participate in farming activities with the locals to learn more about their work and traditions.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Potted Plant Garden, a great place to see and learn about the different plants that frow in this area.
We will return to Ho Chi Minh City by late afternoon.
