Join a fun, fast and efficient way to discover the oldest city in Europe on this bike sightseeing tour to the old quarter and new part of Cadiz.
Meet our multlingual guide for a thrilling journey inside the 3000 years old city. You will start your guided tour by taking a ride to Puerta de Tierra where you will admire the majestic city gates that separate the old and new town. A ride along the beautiful Playa de las Mujeres where there are still underground tunnels that link the outside of the city with its interiors.
Its time now to head towards Campo Sur, also called the little Havana where colourful houses and edifices can be seen as well as the bastions reflecting the once protection required by the city againt numerous assaults due to its strategical position. On the way you will admire the Royal Prison, a 16th century Renissance building as well as the Roman Theatre, the second biggest theatre in the world.
As we reach the Cathedral, there will be further photo stops to admire the wonderful mix of architectures (Barroque, Roccoco, Neo Calssical) that characterizes the 13th century building and its wonderful lightful square. Navigating through the narrow streets of Cadiz, we will cycle past the Flower sellers market and the Market of Cadiz where time will be made to learn about the local seafood and gastromy.
We will head towards La Viña district, where you will hear about the great stories that shape the carnival district of Cadiz and its legends.
Back on the seafront, we will stop by the spectacular Caleta Bay, a former Phoenician port surrounded by Santa Catalina and San Pedro Castles before taking a ride in Genoves Park and the Romantic promenade of Alameda Apodaca. Your friendly guide will take you to the new Moorish style Falla Theatre, home of Carnival contest and heart and soul of Cadiz.
After an amazing photo stop, we will pedal along to admire the gorgeous Plaza España and Las Cortes monument, crucial in the set up of the Spanish constitution before reaching the shaded square of Plaza Mina where the presence of the 16th century bourgeoisie can still be felt throughout its Neo-classical mansions before discovering Calle Ancha and its well preserved palaces, former residences of merchants.
The Tavira Tower will be reached before we head towards Plaza San Juan de Dios and the medieval Populo quarter and the old cathedral. The tour will end with a refreshment in one of Cadiz beautiful squares.
